Abstract

In this paper, we have considered the three-dimensional MHD flow past a semi-infinite uniformly moving porous plate with Soret and Dufour effects. The plate is subjected to a sinu-soidal suction velocity and constant heat flux. It is assumed that a uniform magnetic field is applied normal to the plate and directed into the fluid region. But the induced magnetic field is neglected in the study on the assumption that the magnetic Reynolds number is very small. The analytic solutions are obtained by adopting the method of perturbation technique. The influence of magnetic field parameter, thermal diffusion and diffusion-thermo effects on the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics are mainly focused on the study. It is found from our study that fluid velocity increases under the influence of Soret and Dufour effects.
