The current investigation examined the influence of the melting point on the flow of nanofluid at the stagnation point over a stretching sheet in the presence of viscous dissipation and chemical reaction. The suggested model's governing non-linear partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The numerical solution was obtained from the MATLAB bvp4c. The characteristics of the parameters under consideration are explored and provided. In this model, as the melting parameter is increased, the profiles of solute concentration, velocity, and temperature decline. The temperature profile increases on increasing the Eckert number. The solute concentration decreased for higher values of the chemical reaction parameter. The statistical results of skin friction and local Nusselt number were compared with previous literature. The results of this study provide applications in casting, welding, magma solidification, liquid polymer extrusion, the production of semiconductor materials, the thawing of frozen soils, and the melting of permafrost.
