Abstract

An analysis of the free convective MHD heat and mass transfer flow of an incompressible, chemically reacting, radiating, visco-elastic fluid past a semi-infinite vertical permeable moving plate in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field with time dependent suction has been considered. The governing non-linear partial differential equations are non-dimensionalized and are solved by using perturbation technique. Analytical solutions for velocity, temperature and concentration field have been derived. The expressions for velocity field, temperature field, skin friction, heat flux in terms of Nusselt number, and mass flux in terms of Sherwood number are obtained. The effects of the visco-elastic parameter on velocity profiles and shear stress with the combination of the other flow parameters are discussed graphically.
